Product Development Process
1. Ascertain Specifications
The first step in the process is to determine the exact specifications required for the product. This could include dimensions, materials, features, and any other relevant information.
2. Determine OEM/ODM Model
Once the specifications are determined, the manufacturer will assess if they have an existing OEM/ODM basic model that can be used. If not, they will proceed with designing a new product from scratch.
3. Optical Design
If the product requires optical components, such as a camera or lens, the manufacturer will design and submit optical performance values for approval.
4. Verify Optical Performance Approval
Once the optical design is complete, the manufacturer will verify the optical performance approval with the client.
5. Mechanism Design

After the optical design is approved, the manufacturer will move on to designing the exterior of the product. They will submit exterior drawings for approval by the client.
6. Verify Exterior Drawings Approval
Once the exterior drawings are approved, the manufacturer will verify the exterior drawings approval with the client.
7. Calculate Estimate and Prepare Sample
With the specifications and designs approved, the manufacturer will calculate an estimate for the project, including the cost of materials, labor, and any other necessary expenses. They will then prepare a sample estimate to present to the client.
8. Fabricate Sample
If the client approves the estimate, the manufacturer will proceed to fabricate a sample of the product for the client to review.
9. Shift to Quantity Production
Once the sample is approved, the manufacturer will shift to quantity production, manufacturing the agreed-upon number of products for the client.
